Contract Informational Tips
Use of Gems in Contracts
Very Important: YOU WILL NEVER BE REQUIRED TO SPEND GEMS TO COMPLETE A CONTRACT, THERE MAY BE OPTIONS FOR USING GEM ITEMS (A WAGON FOR EXAMPLE OR A SECOND OPTION FOR A CONTRACT THAT USES GEM PURCHASED ITEMS, HOWEVER YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ABLE TO COMPLETE A CONTRACT WITH A GOLD ONLY OPTION..
Starting Contracts: Contractor have a minimum level which you have to achieve before you can start them, with the exception of Mrs Wilma, You MUST have at least ONE international line before you can start contracts however you will receive that turning the initial game tutorial,
Where are the Contractors:
When a contract is complete the Pink Icon with the Pen & Paper will bounce up & down, Clicking on this icon and it will take you to the completed contract screen, Either click "Collect and Share" to give your friends the chance to Claim Gems or Materials or Click "Collect" to just collect your reward. Sometimes finishing a contract may give you an extra reward pop-up remember to share this too.
PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT NOTES
-
WHEN SENDING INTERNATIONAL TRAINS AS YOU CAN ONLY RECALL THEM IN THE FIRST 10 MINUTES, make sure you have sent them to the right contractors
-
When sending material for delivery you can send materials as you finish the previous contract (if you have empty slots) but you MUST NOT collect them until you have claimed the reward for the previous contract (ie :- you have 5 lines, you send 3 to finish contract 10 and 2 to start contract 11, you must collect reward for 10 before unloading 11)
-
All contracts for an individual contractor MUST be done in sequence, Otto 1, Otto 2 etc.
-
You CAN work on more than 1 contractor at a time, so on the same train you could send for say Otto 15, George 10 and Bobby 12 as an example,
-
Some contracts will give a choice of objective (Starting with Alan) take notice of the wording on the objective (and / or)
-
.Some rewards will offer an item that has a limited quantity for purchase, if you already have the limit you will still recieve the reward.
-
When sending material for delivery excess does not carry over to the next delivery contract, but will remain in the contractor's storage and can be used to complete future building or decoration contracts.
-
Materials for Building or Decoration contracts can be sent at anytime (Pre-loaded). TSBLA thanks to James Y. has a pre-load spreadsheet to help you with the best timing for this.
-
If you pre-load you MUST NOT build the item you are pre-loading for until that contract comes up, otherwise you will have wasted the shipments.. (some buildings look alike, so make sure you have the right description before you pre-load for it or build it)
-
Surplus Materials or coins CAN be used to build or decorate the contractor's station. This will earn XP for you. (please be aware there WILL be various amounts of contracts and you may need most of the materials to build as part of the contracts)
-
.NO materials are ever returned to your own station.Materials CAN still be sent to contractors after the final contract. These can be used to build better ratio buildings and increase the passenger levels on your own station. TSBLA has built a section of this website to show how to best maximize the contractor stations, complete with required buildings and materials/gold required to do so.
-
.Some contracts will give Green Whistles as a reward. The limit on whistles you can own has been changed to 999 Whistles will call Express trains to your station to earn XP, Gold and Materials for you..
-
The type of Locomotive a contractor can accept may change as individual contracts are completed (Sam is a good example of this)
-
EVERYTIME you send a train on a contract you will get XP for that train.EVERYTIME you send a train on a contract you use tax (Gold, Fuel or U235) to pay for the train as normal.Total rewards for doing a contract are as follows -- XP for sending train + XP for doing any building work + reward (loco, wagon, gems, building etc) + XP reward -
-
.POP-UP SCREENAt the start of each contract you will be shown a pop-up from the contractorNear the top of the screen you will see a short message from the contractor. This is NOT the contract. Underneath you will see the word "OBJECTIVE" -- THIS is the contract you have to carry out,
-
DO NOT carry out any other tasks on a contractors station not required by a contract until ALL contracts are finished, then you can use the spare materials to fill out the station & earn XP and increases your passenger levels for your own station

Wagons and Locos - Hints and Tips for Contracts
-
Some Contracts require specific Wagons to be sent Some contracts will require the sending of a particular wagon (Cargo, Passenger, Mail or Xp)You must use the wagon asked for no variants will be accepted, if you are unsure, ask someone before sending, folks will be more than willing to help you out.
-
If the contract calls for FULL wagons all ensure you have enough materials/mail/cargo to fill all the wagons you are sending. Do NOT adjust the slider, they will NOT count.
-
You can remove the container terminal to reduce the amount sent if say you are required to send 600 x U-235 20% wagons, it WILL still count as full. as long as you put it back on your station before the trains arrive at their destination.
-
XP wagons do not need filling
-
Some contracts will require the sending of a particular type of Locomotive (steam, diesel or electric)you can use ANY locomotive of the type asked for that you wish to They can carry ANY wagon that you wish to use - worth checking the TSBLA pre-loading contract file for preferable ways to send things.. You can send the locomotives to as many other friends/contractors that you wish to, it's entirely up to you.
-
Some contracts will require the sending of a specific wagon or Locomotives. You MUST use the locomotive asked for (Other varients may exist, so be careful in choosing, if you are unsure, ASK! They can carry ANY wagon that you wish to use (again check the TSBLA Pre-Load information for details..You can send the locomotives to as many other friends/contractors that you wish to, it's entirely up to you.
-
Contracts that require specific Train Sets
-
If the contract says send COMPLETE Train Sets: You MUST send the full power of the locomotive (for example the PBKA loco set is 11 power). You MUST send 11 wagons of the PBKA SET on the back of it, otherwise it will not count. You DO NOT need to use gem wagons to make up the set, there will always be a gold option to make the complete set.
-
You DO NOT NEED to have every type of wagon from the set. and the wagons DO NOT need to be full
-
If the contract says send FULL Complete train sets You MUST make use of the full locomotive capacity You MUST ONLY have wagons belonging to the set You DO NOT NEED to have every type of wagons from the set.The wagons DO need to be full when they leave your station, you can remove the Passenger Terminal before you send and they are still counted as full as long as you put the building back before unloading.
FINAL REWARDS
When you finish all the contracts for a contractor you will be given 3 rewards
XP for finishing the last contract,
A special reward
The ability for you to use the contractors station
The Contractors station passenger count does add into your main passenger count.
You can build better available buildings to boost this number to a slightly higher level.
Be careful, you sometimes need buildings given to you as rewards from previous contracts to make the maximum number. You cannot expand a contractors station or get any materials you sent to a contractor backYou CAN build and Sell on a contractors station and ship materials to the station after all the contracts are completed
All buildings will become unlocked so you can sell, move or store them (Max of 20 Storage)
